Intended use of HBcrAg

26/10/2016

HBcrAg stands for Hepatitis B core related antigen and is a combination of

  • HBeAg: information about replication status of the virus
  • p22cr: empty virus particle
  • HBcAg: this protein is not detectable as such in blood as it is always part of a complex

These three diferent types of antigen proteins are trans- lated by the mRNA of transcriptional products of cccDNA, which itself is generated by the HBV replication process in hepatocytes.1
